Ties That Bind

Image
Poem based on tragic events in the 2012 American Survival Drama 'Life of Pi': brief syllables filled with agony that race through Piscine's mind during a shipwreck that changed his life...   Ties That Bind As I gaze upward with a sigh and watch the pitiless seagulls fly I sense the tight n tender tie between the birds and their freedom-the sky Ashamed,I look into the great deep to seek refuge on my knee and smile at fish wake from sleep cherishing their tie with the sea My eyes are brimming with tears as they scan the desolate shipwreck I couldn't face my worst fears the burden's too heavy on my neck Family, friends, foes: all gone in brief seconds so unfortunate leaving me forlorn  admitting it's too late I've searched day and night I wish my life could rewind I've lost much in life's fight for I couldn't keep the ties that bind...

Reverent Into two scarlet palms A yelling babe was laid Feeling out of harm He heard himself fade Loud smiles induce first smiles Brimming with mirthful mischiefs He said, "Son, together we'll go miles Through life's else's and if's!" Indeed is he my father Who led his boy through thick 'n thin Made him a man and further: Shaped, robust and genuine Husband, brother, son, father, friend In fifty years: omnipotent The man among men, him i commend With misty eyes, I am reverent

A Big Salute

Image
Penned in the perspective of a middle-aged emotional person whose big brother is saying his goodbyes while moving on in life... PS: Big bro is silent, wise, motivating and happens to be a great cook! Also, the poem is aligned in the shape of a sail boat to be bring out the spicy fact of life..."we go where the wind takes us". A BIG SALUTE Big brother is home going Leaving behind overflowing Vessels of sweet memories As many a hearts’ melodies The deft emotionless stature The silent sense of humour The cool composed approach  calculated talks with no reproach Hit lives better than aimed darts Truly inspired many hearts To taste your dishes: no doubts Water in anguish many mouths Your strangely silent posture Is but your loudest signature In these departing moments Your people foil torments Brother, husband, father...well sufficed Quite an audience you have enticed East or west-there isn’t another A ...
