Poem based on tragic events in the 2012 American Survival Drama 'Life of Pi': brief syllables filled with agony that race through Piscine's mind during a shipwreck that changed his life...   Ties That Bind As I gaze upward with a sigh and watch the pitiless seagulls fly I sense the tight n tender tie between the birds and their freedom-the sky Ashamed,I look into the great deep to seek refuge on my knee and smile at fish wake from sleep cherishing their tie with the sea My eyes are brimming with tears as they scan the desolate shipwreck I couldn't face my worst fears the burden's too heavy on my neck Family, friends, foes: all gone in brief seconds so unfortunate leaving me forlorn  admitting it's too late I've searched day and night I wish my life could rewind I've lost much in life's fight for I couldn't keep the ties that bind...
